Big Okiagari Koboshi Melie et Malice collaboration
A farandole of figurines with cute details that will make you smile in a glance: akabeko, small characters and landscapes.
This model is very particular because it was made in collaboration with the universe of Emilie de Mélie and Malice, whose stationery creations I also offer. It was made especially for us. Emilie has a big success in the region because her little characters showcase her. It is entirely hand painted by Takada Ito from an illustration by Emilie. It is full of adorable details.
Okiagari koboshi is a local craft from the Aizu region. This region is also the region of the akabeko (red cow in the local dialect). It is a tumbler made of clay and papier-mâché (hariko). For 400 years, they have been sold in Aizu for New Years Day. The Craftswoman is located in Tokaichi City.
The name means he gets up and therefore invites to overcome difficulties. You can also let him lie down, which may mean that he will get up later. It’s a message of hope. Traditionally, each year it can be purchased for each member of the family. If we buy one more, it means that we hope the family will grow.
